Alright party people, let's talk about being ready for the unexpected.
One of the many jarring things about having a little one on a medical keto diet is that there aren't many last minute options, especially when you are out and about.
We feel lucky enough we have found a few key snacks that we can buy from the supermarket, and that are at exact ratio for Georgia.
Remember that Georgia's ratio is 2:1 - if you or your little one is on a different ratio, there will be other foods that you can rely on.
Also remember that every single option is fully dependant on the brand, and sometimes even within the same brand!
For example, I can't say that cream cheese is at ratio for Georgia. Philadelphia Original Portions are sitting at 2.8:1 ratio; Philadelphia Original Cream Cheese is higher, at just over 3:1 ratio; Philadelphia Lactose Free Cream Cheese is higher again, at 3.5:1 ratio.
Some 2:1 ratio ready snacks
We buy from either the supermarket or Low Carb Haven (a great ally for us).

It looks like a lot, but there's different flavours of the same thing. Still, we consider ourselves lucky we have some options! Kids with higher ratio needs, like 4:1 ratio, have a much harder life than us unfortunately!
Please note: especially for Sugar Free sweet treats, watch out for ingredients like Erythritol, Tapioca Fibre, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, Prebiotic Fibre, etc. Sugar substitutes and fibres will upset the delicate balance of your little ones and give them the shits (and none of the giggles, I'll tell you that for free!).
We sadly learnt from experience when Georgia downed half a bag of Sugar Free Marshmallows - and before it got to toilet time, she lost and entire night of sleep crying in pain for the noisy cramps.
